Buffalo have levelled the h2h at 9-9, winning 4 of the last 5 meetings. These two are playing their MAC opener today, so it's a game none of them will take lightly at all. Both are 1-1 for the season, and while Buffalo are the better team, and have home field advantage, Kent State have been resting since their last game and have that on their side. What is worrying though is the fact they have lost 7 of their last 8 road games.
Buffalo won their last match 56-34, which looks decent offensively, but stinks defensively when you consider they gave up 34 to an FCS team, Morgan State. After 2 games they are scoring just under 40 points per game on average, best in the MAC, but they have surrendered the 2nd most points of all the teams in the MAC too.
Kent State went down 47-14 against Kentucky, but Kent racked up over 400 yards on their opponents, which shows they have the ability to score a bunch of points on Buffalo's suspect defence. Not that Kent State have a solid stop unit either. They gave up 539 yards to Kentucky, including 185 on the ground.
That stop unit will have it's hands full with Buffalo, who have Alex Zordich as QB. The son of Mike Zordich, former NFL safety, has already thrown 5 TD passes and just 1 pick in 2 games, gaining his team 385 yards while completing 67% of his passes. He could also hand off to Branden Oliver, who just broke the schools rushing record with 238 against Morgan State. He is 2nd in the nation with an average of 175 yards per game.
BETTING VERDICT
All offence, no defence. These two are going to light up the scoreboard and I think the game will sail over by the 3rd.
