Toledo and Bowling Green both have 3-3 records coming into this MAC game, and they are two teams moving in different directions. Toledo are 2-0 in conference play while Bowling Green are 1-1. The spread is set at 7.

Toledo opened with a win over New Hampshire, but then got beaten by Ohio State, Boise State and Syracuse (all good teams). What is encouraging is the next 2 games, where Toledo beat their conference rivals, Temple and Eastern Michigan by a combined 90-29 margin! Toledo will have confidence from those results coming into this one, against a Falcons team they beat 33-14 last year.

Bowling Green have wins over Idaho, Morgan State and Miami-Ohio, but have been drilled in their last 2 matches, losing to West Virginia and Western Michigan by a combined 100-31 score. They will have their hands full against one of, if not the, best offences in the MAC. Toledo operate using 2 QBs, Austin Dantin and Terrance Owens, both of whom were excellent against Eastern Michigan, a better team than Bowling Green. They each had 2 TDs to their name and roughly 150 yards passing each. Like I said, they are balanced, as they also boast a ground game that ran for 240 yards.

Look for Eric Page, one of the best receivers in the MAC, to get some throws his way, possibly for scores. He already has 577 yards in reception with 4 TDs. On the ground, keep an eye out for David Fluellen and Morgan Williams, both of whom ran for 74 yards and 1 TD each in their last game.

Bowling Green are weak defensively, especially against the run. That was clear because even Western Michigan, a throwing team, opted to run it, and managed to gash the Falcons for 351 rushing yards a 3 TDs. Bowling Green are giving up 182 yards on the ground on average, and have allowed 12 rushing TDs so far.

BETTING VERDICT

Toledo's offence is far too powerful, and with this being a conference match, I expect them to ride that confidence from their 2-0 start to pounding Bowling Green and scoring on most drives. The Falcons don't have what it takes to keep up and I can actually see Toledo winning this by between 10 and 17 points.
