The Buffalo Bulls are now 2-4, having bounced back from a 3 game losing streak to defeat Ohio 38-37. Their only other win came against Stony Brook. They're on the road, and I don't give they're even going to be competitive here.

Buffalo have been battered by Temple the last 2 times they met, with the last game ending 42-0. Thats a familiar score, because after Temple got beaten by Toledo 2 weeks ago, they rebounded with a ferocious performance against Ball State just last week to win 42-0! The way they managed to blank Ball State was encouraging, because that 38 points that Buffalo scored in their last game, a narrow win, was exactly as many as they had scored in their previous 3 matches combined!

Brandon Oliver spearheads the rushing attack for Buffalo, and he has done well so far, thanks to the passing attack not being good enough. QB Chazz Anderson has hit just 5 TD passes, while being picked 3 times. On the ground though, Oliver has 679 yards and 8 TDs and will need to put in a good performance because the Buffalo defence look set to give up a bunch of points.

Last week Ohio managed 239 rushing yards and 3 TDs on the ground against Buffalo. The Bulls have given up 10 rushing TDs in 6 games, at about 184 yards per game. Through the air, they are worse, giving up 11 TDs. That is hard to improve on when they have managed just 13 sacks so far. Not much pressure being applied on opposing QBs.

The Bulls will struggle here in a hostile environment away from home as they are coming up against the Temple star tailback Bernard Pierce. Not only he is putting up huge numbers on the ground, he breaking school records. So far, he has 692 yards and 15 TDs in just 6 games. Against the Ball State Cardinals he had 121 yards and 3 scores. There is also Matt Brown gaining yards for the team, while QB Chester Stewart, who went 10 for 13 on his passes for 160 yards and 1 TD.

The defence did give up 36 points in losing to Toledo, but that was a one-off. In the other 5 games this team has played, they have given up just 31 combined points.

BETTING VERDICT

I did wonder about the effects of that big blowout shutout 42-0 win in their last match having a letdown effect here on Temple. They also won by the same score against Buffalo in their last match. That makes this a great revenge angle for Buffalo, who will want to keep it respectful. I've had more losers on here than I expected, and they've come via silly backdoor covers, so if you're one of those people thinking of fading me, do it here.

I do love the explosive nature of Temple's play. I don't think they will suffer too much of a letdown because they know this is a team they can beat up on in front of the home crowd. The spread is at 21 and I can see them winning by about 24 here. However, I do want to have a look at Pinnacles 1st half lines before pulling the trigger so please check back in a bit and I'll have a bet for you.
