I jinxed the bet last week when I commented that Man City were pretty reliable for punters, winning at home and losing away and then they promptly went and won at Goodison Park.
But that break in "form" with a good away win is hardly a reason to ignore City's home form that shows 11 home goals and five wins in the last six starts at the City of Manchester Stadium - and an impressive 36 home goals this season
Manager Mark Hughes job can hardly be safe at present, but if City win this game then they'll have won three in a row, and have a sniff of the Europa League spots - which surely will be the minimum requirement if Hughes is to keep his job next season.
Blackburn R (15th - Away Rec : 4-4-9 17:32)
Blackburn Roversd beat Wigan 2-0 at home last weekend, and picked up three valuable points to take the season total to 37 points, that's six points clear of the drop zone and in all reality with just four games left Rovers are probably already safe.
That won't be the message that manager Sam Allardyce will be giving the players though, so we should expect a full competitive Rovers side, and probably quite a defensive outlook.
Head to Head
This is one section that does not look good for a home win bet, as Blackburn Rovers have not been beaten in any of their last six trips to face Man City - recording five draws, and a 3-0 sucess two seasons ago.
But City are a stronger outfit this year with the influx of Arabian cash, and they've already bucked the trend a bit by earning a 2-2 draw at Ewood Park back in December.
The Betting Verdict
Blackburn have scored in just three of their last nine away games, and it's that lack of goals that could be a key to the result here, as Man City have scored in 15 of their 17 home games.
