Analysis:Both sides are coming into this match after managing wins in their last match but for Genoa they are on a high after winning their last four matches in a row prior to this match. Lazio meanwhile ended a run of three straight defeats when they won their last match.
Genoa are still holding on to Champions League qualification and will want to stay that way till the end of season. Last weekend they took the scalp of Juventus by grining out a 3-2 win to make it four wins in a row and will not be afraid of Lazio especially on their home grounds and they will be cautious as they are two points ahead of Fiorentina.
Even the absence of striker Diego Milito doesn't seem to bother them and they will be hoping that the clash between Fiorentina and A.S Roma can distract Fiorentina here. Gian Piero Gasperini’s men will no doubt make full use of home ground advantage when they take on Lazio here.
They have the second best record scoring at home with 30 goals after Juventus.
Lazio comes into this match after a 4-2 derby win over A.S Roma. They are in ninth spot but have not taken their sights off a UEFA Cup spot and they trail city rivals Roma by five points but have Cagliari and Palermo within a win of them.
Intrestingly Lazio's coach Delio Rossi was coach of Genoa between 1999 and 2000 and he doesn't have too many fond memories there. Lasy season it ended in a 2-0 win for Lazio at The Marassi, so Genoa will be keen for revenge. But back then last season Lazio's win at The Marassi came when nobody gave them any hope when they were coming after seven games without a win.
When they met earlier this season at The Stadio Olimpico, it ended in a 1-1 draw. Diego Milito scored but missed a penalty and some poor goalkkeping allowed Ousmane Dabo to get the equalizer late into the game.
Genoa is expected to keep the same side that beat Juventus. The likes of Alessio Scarpi, Diego Milito and Matteo Paro are injured are all out with injuries. For the visitors Lazio they will miss the services of Francelino Matuzalem and Cristian Brocchi due to suspension while Simone Inzaghi is out on the treatment table.
