2008-11-23 - New England Patriots at Miami Dolphins
A Sports Betting Pick by Bodog
Dolphin Stadium, Miami, FL
Sunday 23rd November 2008 - Kickoff 1:00 PM ET
Miami Dolphins (6-4, 4-2 home, 5-5 ATS)
The resurgent Miami Dolphins head into an AFC East battle with the New England Patriots on Sunday looking for their fifth straight victory.
The last time these teams played, Miami surprised New England with their Wildcat offense.
Running back Ronnie Brown received several direct snaps, rushing for 113 yards and four touchdowns and adding a passing touchdown to tight end Anthony Fasano in the 38-13 win. Since that upset win, the Fish have won six of their last eight games.
New England Pats (6-4, 2-2 away, 5-5 ATS)
The Pats are coming off a 34-31 loss to the Jets, where Patriots QB Matt Cassel went 30-of-51 for 400 yards passing and three touchdowns without an interception, also adding 62 rushing yards.
Cassel is getting a lot of flack for his performances, but the stats show that he has has a higher passer rating than Tom Brady did in his rookie year back in 2001. (87.0 vs 86.5) New England won the Super Bowl that season with Brady as MVP.
New England is 8-29 in South Florida since 1970, including 3-7 ATS in their last 10 games.
THE VERDICT
Yes, Miami are on a streak of wins, but beating the likes of Oakland, Seattle and Buffalo is not like facing New England.
I have a feeling that the Pats are steamed about what went on last time, and New England's chances of a sixth straight postseason berth are on the line.
Look for Bill Belichick to get New England up for this game, and grind out a win over the Dolphins.
The Pick :
New England 20-17 Miami
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take NEW ENGLAND to win this game.
