2008-11-23 - Chicago Bears at St Louis Rams
A Sports Betting Pick by Bodog
Edward Jones Dome, St. Louis, MO
Sunday November 23, 2008 - Kickoff 1:00 PM ET
Coming off their worst loss in more than five years, the Chicago Bears will try to take advantage of the limping St. Louis Rams on Sunday.
Chicago Bears (5-5, 2-3 road, 4-5-1 ATS)
If Chicago plays the way they did against the Packers in a 37-3 loss, beating a woeful St. Louis team could be a struggle as well.
Chicago had a season-low 234 total yards and scored its fewest points since last season's opening game.
A week after holding the unbeaten Tennessee Titans to 20 yards rushing, the Bears gave up a season-high 200, which is the most since Minnesota ran for 311 on them last season.
St Louis Rams (2-8, 1-3 home, 3-7 ATS)
The Bears will try to bounce back against an injury-plagued St. Louis offense that will be missing Pro Bowl tackle Orlando Pace and top rusher Steven Jackson.
Losers of four straight, the Rams have been blown out in their last three games by a combined 116-32 score while committing 11 turnovers.
The 2-8 Rams have the worst point differential in the NFL at –173 on the season. That's bad. In fact it's worse than 3-7 Houston (–51), 3-7 San Francisco (–45) and 2-8 Seattle (–67) put together.
St Louis have been getting blown out by double digits on the road, and even at home they've lost five of the last home six games by -17 points or more.
The one glimmer of hope for St Louis fans was a surprising 34-14 win over Dallas here a month ago but since then the Rams have lost by -7, -21, -44 and -19.
The Verdict
No-one likes to be giving up more than a touchdown start on the road, but given the recent thrashings inflicted on the Rams it probably is the better way to go.
The Pick :
Chicago 27-13 St Louis
BEST BETTING TIP :
Take CHICAGO to win by double digits and cover.
