I rate Middle Tennessee as 97th and Western Kentucky as 118th out of 120 teams. Do not expect a classic, both teams will be lucky to score positive points.

Middle Tennessee Blue Raiders (3-6)
The situation is not quite as dismal as it looks for the Blue Raiders, three of their six losses have come against schools from BCS conferences and one of their victories was against a good Maryland team.
This team struggles to score but on defence they are putting up a credible performance, they rank 70th in the country and that includes 4 top tier opponents.
Pre-season it would have been expected that MTSU would finish with 3 wins, from this point of view the season has been a success and it is not inconceivable that they finish with 5 wins.
The defence must perform if this team are to take the victory, the offence will not contribute much.
Western Kentucky Hilltoppers (2-8)
The Hilltoppers are still without a conference as they only joined top division football last season. They join the Sun Belt next season and this year face 5 Sun Belt teams.
Since moving to top division football WKU only have one victory against other FBS teams, that was last season against this weeks opponents.
So far this season the Toppers have been woeful but they have played a fairly tough schedule including games against Alabama, Kentucky, Virginia Tech. The two victories were against lower tier outfits and as such no positives can be taken.
On offence they have been tragic, only once have they scored over 20 points and this was in a defeat to the almost equally terrible North Texas. Defence is just as bad, they have only held one opponent below 20 although this was last week in a 10 point loss to Troy.
THe Verdict
Which team is less mediocre? Western Kentucky will need to step up in every department to win. MTSU should be able to rely on their solid defence to get them through
