I like Giants righty Matt Cain's bulldog approach and while I don't think his stuff is good enough to ever propel him to elite status, he looks like a guy who should be a very productive starter for years to come.
But I can't see Cain and the Giants as this much chalk in their Friday contest with Greg Maddux and the Padres.
San Diego is actually showing some signs of life winning three of their last four, and Maddux has numbers that are just as good as Cain's.
This game looks like a tossup, so there's decent value in backing the Padres at the price.
