Analysis:While Tottenham knows that a win could improve their position in the standings and finish in the Top Ten, for Liverpool, no matter what happens, they will finish in fourth spot, win or lose and will have to go through the Champions League Qualifying stages after almost missing out on qualification at one stage.
Tottenham started the season with the aim of qualifying for the Champions League, but will have to settle for a place in the UEFA Cup thanks largely to Spanish Coach Juance Ramos who took over from Dutchmen Martin Jol and gave them the League Cup beating Chelsea in the Final.
Liverpool on the other hand, started the season being titled as Championship favourites, with the signing of Fernando Torres and were expected to give Manchester United and Chelsea a run for their money. But internal disputes and takeovers as well as rotation policy from Rafa Benitez means that Liverpool will finish in fourth spot and settle for a trophyless season, apart from having to start the season early and play in the Champions League Qualifiers.
Tottenham is almost sure to lose the services of Bulgarian Dimitar Bebatov for next season so do watch out for him in this match as he bids farewell to the home faithful and could possibly reward them with a goal here. The Bulgarian striker is expected to play for a side that is in the Champions League and sadly that is not where Tottenham will be in next season. Berbatov could feature after shaking off a groin injury so expect a good farewell for him at White Hart Lane.
Tottenham have doubts over winger Aaron Lennon who is down with a knee injury after missing out against Reading and goalkeeper Paul Robinson who did not play in the past one month will stay out as well. That means expect to see Radek Cerny in goal. The likes of Ledley King, Gareth Bale and Benoit Assou-Ekotto are all out with injuries but Teemu Tainio has resumed training after his Achilles injury and could feature here.
As for Liverpool, Peter Crouch is also likely to start this match as he bids farewell to the Reds and he is likely to start against his first club in English football. Also Australian winger Harry Kewell could start this match at some point as he is unlikely to play next season.
Full-back Fabio Aurelio could start this match after recovering from a torn abductor muscle injury. Daniel Agger has resumed light training but is in no condition to start this match and will not feature here.
This match being level ball, take Tottenham to win here or at least not to suffer a defeat here.
Cheers and good luck,
