Current Super Bowl champs the colts play their first game of the playoffs at home to the chargers. Manning will be looking to get back to the AFC Championship game and more than likely a re-run of last year when the Colts beat the Pats to make it to the super bowl.
The Colts have lost three times this season so far, and have lost twice at home. Once when they played the Pats when they lost 24-20 and also the last game of the season when they had nothing to play for losing to the Titans (who had plenty to play for) 16-10.
The Colts haven’t been what you could call great at home this season with close wins in another two games which could have seen them lose four at home, but they didn’t and won the AFC South but it was close and at the end they were only two games better than the Jags. In fact no team in that division ended the season with a losing record and with Dungy saying he may not be back next season, this could be the last chance for maybe a while for the Colts to make the post season, as there could be some changes being made for next season.
San Diego Chargers

The Chargers won the AFC West with four games to spare. but to be honest it was a poor division with Denver not ever really getting going and two other teams that only managed to win 4 games each. I could be wrong but I think the Chargers ended last season with only three defeats so this season, which saw them lose, five times has been worse.
On the road the Chargers are 4-4 and will not be looking forward to the trip away at the Colts. I watched the Chargers win last weekend in the wild card game against the Titans and while it ended 17-6 in their favour, I wasn’t all that impressed and they didn’t look like a team who in there three previous games with ease beating Denver 23-3 and the Lions 51-14.
Even with nothing to play for they beat the Raiders on the last game of the season 30-17 in Oakland, so they went into the playoffs in good form, but they did not carry that form into the game against the Titans.
Verdict
If the Colts where to lose this game at home against a team like the Chargers then it would be a major upset. And the bookies feel the same and the price of 1.18 is not really worth betting on. However I think that the Colts will win this game with ease and you can get them with -10 and this has to be they way to go at 1.90
