The Vikings are currently holding the last wild card spot in the NFC standings. Their record of 7-6 is one clear of the chasing pack so any slip up will be crucial and could end in disaster for this team.
They are a very solid 4-2 record at home with their defeats coming against the Packers and Eagles who are 2 decent teams.
The rookie of the year 'Adrian Peterson' couldn't be having a better first season but he did get injured for a few weeks recently. His record breaking 296 rushing yards in one game against the Chargers which just shows what a player he is.
The Vikes are certainly a run team and in Peterson and Chester Taylor, they have 2 fantastic players to keep running through the offence. In week 10, they lost 34-0 @ Green Bay but since then, they have gone on a 4-0 run including a great win in New York against the play-off bound Giants (41-17).
They need to keep winning to assure their play-off spot and it is in their hands but one slip up and it could end their hopes.
Chicago Bears
Chicago's season was ended last week with a defeat against so now they have nothing to play for except pride.
They are bottom of the NFC North with a poor 5-8 record.
After getting all the way to the superbowl last year, they would have expected to get to the play-offs at least again this year but things just haven't got going. The Bear QB's are 2 poor QB's and this is really showing because they just aren't good enough to be in the play-offs.
The one highlight of their season has been kick returner 'Devin Hester' but he can't do everything for them. After such a poor season, it won't be hard to improve on it but they certainly need a few players to do this.
The Chicago defence was the main reason why they got to the Superbowl last year and they have been nowhere near as good this year. If you are giving up a lot of points each game, you don't want Grossman or Griese to lead your team to comebacks because they are not good enough to do it week in week out.
The Verdict
A win here for the home team which will continue their quest for a play-off spot. Minnesota 'need' this win where as the Bears have nothing to play for now.
The Vikings should overrun the Bears rushing defence which means one thing - a Vikings win and touchdowns for both Chester Taylor & Adrian Peterson.
