Georgia Bulldogs
The Dawgs come into the annual showdown with instate rivals in royal form, they have won 5 straight including wins over Florida, Auburn and Kentucky.
The official polls have them ranked #6, personally I feel this too high and have them placed at #15, SEC teams are often over-rated in the polls due to the perception that it is the best division.
Over the course of the season the defense has grown into a monster and now are among the elite and rank 6th overall, offence has been tougher but still ranks 3rd in the conference.
A victory here sees the Bulldogs playing in the conference championship and even an outside shot at the national title, more likely a place in the Sugar Bowl.
The key man will be RB Knowshon Moreno, this freshman stud is taking the SEC by storm and looks to be a future NFL’er. If he can run for over 100 yards, which he has done in the last 5 games then it will guarantee a Georgia victory..
Georgia Tech Yellowjackets
The Ramblin’ Wreck have had a very up and down season, they took a very good win over Clemson only to lose against Maryland the following week.
The season has pretty much ended, a bowl game is a certainty and the result of this game does not change their conference standing.
The main hope will be on the shoulders of Tashard Choice, he is among the best RB’s in college football and will definitely be playing in the NFL next season, unfortunately the passing game has been quite poor and will be a big negative in this game.
On a more positive note, the defence is in the top 25 in the country and has proven solid against the pass and the rush.
Prediction
This big rivalry game will be a low scoring affair, Georgia will prove too strong for an unmotivated Georgia Tech.
