Wake Forest Deamon Deacons
The Deacons have come into a royal vein of form, since losing the first 2 games of the season they are now on a 6 game winning streak and are racking up the points at will.
The focus of the offence is future NFL QB Riley Skinner, in recent weeks his passing has been extremely accurate, completing well in excess of 75% of his passes.
This is backed with an excellent running game which has weighed in with 14 TD’s so far this season.
Defence is Wake’s Achilles heel, they only rank 9th in the conference and are giving up almost 23 points a game, on the plus side the secondary appear expert at intercepting the ball with 13 so far this season, the defence has taken the ball away an impressive 24 times.
Virginia Cavaliers
The Wahoos have been mightily impressive to be at 7-2 for the season, this masks the fact that 5 of those wins have come by 5 points or less. Also they have two very disappointing losses to Wyoming and North Carolina State.
The offence has been fairly unimpressive the QB Sewell is only averaging 5.9 yards per attempt, this needs to be increased if they are to trouble the scorer.
The defence has looked fairly solid so far holding every under opponent under 30 points and many under 20 points. This masks the fact that they have faced same fairly mediocre offences.
The Cavs will need to be at their very best if they are to take the win, they are unbeaten at home but this will be the toughest test so far.
Prediction
The ACC is a very tough conference and upsets can easily happen, in my opinion Wake Forest are a far superior team but this is not reflected in the spread which has been set at 0 points.
I say go with the form team and no team is more in form than the Deacons at the moment.
