Rangers continue their challenge for the SPL with a home game v newly promoted Gretna this weekend after their midweek game in the Champions League, which saw them make it through to the group stages

It looks like this is the first ever meeting between these two teams and while I expected to see that in regards to the league, I thought they may have played each other at some point in the cup but this doesn’t seem to be the case. So no head to head for this game.

Rangers have started this seasons SPL like a house on fire and look like a team carrying on their form from last season and have four wins out of four so far and this has seen them score 14 goals and only concede 3, however 7 of those goals were v Falkirk.
This week also saw a 0-0 home draw v Red Star and as such Rangers are now in the group stages of the Champions League after going through 1-0 over the two legs.

Gretna - 11th 1 point from 4 games
Gretna have been flying up the leagues and now find themselves in with the big boys and what looks like a tough season ahead.
They are not playing their home games at home and have to go to Motherwell and as such this will mean that every game this season will not really give them any home advantage and this has to be a negative for them.
This season has seen only one point gained so far against Hearts with a 1-1 away draw. Now while this may seem like a decent point - Hearts currently are only 1 place and 1 point above Gretna have however won at “home” 3-1 in the CIS cup beating Cowdenbeath.

The Verdict
This has to be another banker home win this week and Rangers will surely be far to strong when the two teams meet for the first ever time.
Again like my other previews this weekend the price is low and should only be really considered along with another bet or two.
