2007-08-12 - Kangaroos vs West Coast
A Sports Betting Pick by DannyBoy
HEAD TO HEAD :West Coast 17, Kangaroos 16
LAST TIME :
West Coast 18.13 (121) def. Kangaroos 7.13 (55)
at Subiaco Oval, Round 10, 2007.
Preview :
After winning their past five matches entering round 18 the Kangaroos crashed back to earth with a thud in a Jonathan Brown-inspired loss to the Brisbane Lions at the Gabba on Saturday night. Had Brown and his team-mates kicked straight though, the margin could have been much closer to 12 goals.
The Eagles also missed their chance to overtake the Roos inside the top four when they gave Fremantle a start. West Coast almost reeled in its cross-town rival during the third quarter but then had no answer to the Dockers' powerful finish.
West Coast skipper Chris Judd continues to struggle with a groin problem but will play this week. Jaymie Graham (calf) and Mitchell Brown (groin) both face fitness tests but Daniel Chick (throat) will reportedly miss, while Sam Butler (groin) is another week away, Josh Wooden (hip) may be back for round 21, Llane Spaanderman (knee) could be fit by the final home and away round and Ashley Sampi (hamstring) is unlikely to play for the club again.
The Verdict :
The Roos are second on the ladder facing a team who has been a little patchy as of late in West Coast. Last week's effort against Fremantle was pretty woeful and they haven't quite hit the heights of last year.
The last time these sides met it was a big win to the Eagles, even when missing several key players.
But the Kangaroos are likely to play much better than they did against the Lions, while the Eagles have to do the traveling this week, are coming off a much tougher game against the Doc.
BEST BETTING TIP :
At the Dome I think the Roos will lift and show their true potential. I expect a close game, and at these odds I really think the Roos are big value.Kangaroos to win @ 2.20
Kangaroos + 8.5 @ 1.85
Kangaroos 1-39 points @ 2.65 (best bet)
