2005-08-20 - Queen's Park vs Berwick Rangers
A Sports Betting Pick by Litmanen
SCOTTISH DIV 3
• At the start of the season Berwick were considered one of the main contenders for promotion and so far they have lived up to expectations with two impressive wins. A trip to Queen’s Park is not the trickiest fixture on the list either so Rangers should have every confidence of making it three in a row.
• Last weekend Queen’s Park earned an important victory away at Cowdenbeath and will be hoping to build on that result having lost their first league match of the season at home to Stenhousemuir but having failed to bring nay new faces over the Summer it will be difficult and a tough season looks on the cards.
• Berwick are firing are on all cylinders in contrast with four victories from their opening four domestic games, scoring thirteen goals in the process, and among those wins was a 2-1 triumph over Second Division side Peterhead, who are easily a level above most of the teams in the Third Division.
• But complacency nearly cost Rangers in their last game as they slipped to an early deficit against the league’s perennial whipping boys, East Stirling, but Berwick showing great resolve and team spirit, bounced back to a 3-2 victory and as long as their defence tightens a little, then topping the division is a real possibility this year.
• Queen’s Park look destined to a season of turmoil and will be determined to pick up every point they can on home soil but taking on a Berwick, equipped with a number of great signings over the Summer, is one of the toughest tasks they will have to take this season, and one I do not feel they are ready for.
