Real Mallorca could be relegated after this match unless they can get a win against Real Betis who will be targetting to complete the final Europa League spot in this clash at the Iberostar Stadium.
Mallorca's stay in La Liga is finally coming to an end after all these years and the Island side are bottom of the standings true to their performance this season. With just three games left they are almost certain to be relagated after this match. At the moment, Mallorca are five points away from safety but even three straight wins does not guarantee them to stay in La Liga.
Gregorio Manzano’s men have no choice but to try and start a winning run against Real Betis if they are to have any chance at all. Their last match saw them get beaten by Athletic Bilbao 2-1 and also saw them lose two more players ahead of this clash.
Andreu Fontas and Ximo are both suspended after they were sent off at San Mames, while Pedro Bigas, Antonio Lopez and Joao Victor remain out of the side already.
Meanwhile, Real Betis can at best hope for a place in the Europa League despite some early season promise of a Champions League place. Their last win at home against Celta Vigo meant that they are five points clear of their nearest rivals and with both Sevilla and Getafe losing on Saturday, they will seal European qualification with three points against bottom side Mallorca.
The win against Celta Vigo will instill some confidence despite a dip in form before that win. As for their team news, Nosa Igiebor and Damien Perquis miss out through injury, while Mario Alvarez and Jorge Molina face fitness tests.
The only concern here is that Real Betis does not have a good away record as they have won just once in their last eoght games away from home. But for the first half of the season, they have been impressive away from home.
