Pandurii Tg Jiu are currently sitting on the second place in Liga 1 with just three games to play after their 3-1 win over strugglers CS Turnu Severin.
Finishing second would be the best performance in the club’s history and would also secure their first ever presence in a European competition.

Brasov’s decent season is being shadowed by a huge scandal within the club, the players boycotted their Thursday trainings after they have gone three months without pay.
As a result the ones who initiated the boycott were sent to the reserves team for an undetermined period, which means that we won’t see regulars Nuno Viveiros, Cristi Munteanu and Cristi Ionescu in Targu Jiu.
Under these circumstances the team from Brasov will find it hard to improve their modest away record, they’ve only obtained two victories in 15 games on the road during this season.
Last time around they’ve suffered a 6-4 defeat at the hands of Petrolul Ploiesti in what was probably the most spectacular games of the season.
The Betting Verdict
Pandurii Tg Jiu’s got a great chance to make another step towards a second place finish, Cristi Pustai’s side will only have to repeat the excellent performances from their previous home games.
Pandurii have been scoring for fun when playing at home, they’ve netted 16 goals in their last six home games, winning five of them.
Brasov’s coach Adrian Szabo will find it hard to motivate his squad given the current circumstances. Brasov doesn’t have much to play for and they’ll also be affected by the scandal I mentioned about earlier.
It’s a definite home win for me, Brasov have lost on their last three trips to Targu Jiu and Pandurii are also playing an excellent football at the moment, so I’ll back them to win this by two or more goals.
