Preview
It took an epic comeback and then a magical shot from Manu Ginobili in second overtime to help the San Antonio Spurs overcome the Golden State Warriors in Game 1 of this series. It was a remarkable victory that even the experienced San Antonio Spurs couldn't explain the day after the result.
Now they will be focused on trying to keep ahead of the Warriors after seeing the latter win 3 straight games against Denver in the First Round of the Play Offs. With the amount of Play Off experience this roster has, there is little doubt that San Antonio will be ready for Game 2 and quickly put aside their success from the opening game.
Stephen Curry once again posed plenty of problems for the team he is facing as he sunk 44 points, although he did have some issues when an adjustment was made to put Kawhi Leonard on him defensively. However, Curry believes he has seen something on the tape where he can find better shooting options and the focus on the Spurs is going to be to find a way to quieten him down.
With Klay Thompson also providing an offensive spark, as long as he can stay out of foul trouble, the Warriors certainly feel they are in this series.
San Antonio should also get more minutes out of Tim Duncan in Game 2 after he was limited thanks to his stomach upset in Game 1. Duncan has admitted he is feeling a lot better following a couple of days rest and he should play a larger part in this one.
Head to Head
San Antonio lead the season series 3-2 thanks to their win in Game 1 and all of the games have been won by the home team.
Prediction
The first game of the series will surely mean San Antonio come out with more focus in this one, but the Golden State Warriors are a dangerous young team that clearly don't know their own limitations.
There is a small trend that suggests the Warriors is the right call in this game and Golden State are capable of scoring a lot of points which should enable them to keep this one close at least.
