Nantes managed a 1-0 win over Niort away from home in their last match prior to this match. It was a fairly balanced match until Nantes took the lead in the 62nd minute and it stayed that way until the end of the match.

Nantes are second in the standings, but need to get the win as the likes of Caen and Monaco managed wins, so as to not allow teams behind them to catch them.
Alegrian defender Madouni and midfielder Veretout are out for Nantes in this match. But Nantes have more then enough capable replacements in their side.
Meanwhile Clermont, lost their last match at home to Gazelec going down 0-2. That was an unexpected result as Gazelec has already been relegated. Gazelec scored their two goals in the second half to get all three points.
Clermont hardly took control of the match and instead were rather nervous as the relegated side took control and won the match, despite being relegated. Clermont are in danger as they are still in the relegation position at the moment. They are on level points with Niort. They have failed to win their last four games and have only managed to score one goal in their last four matches.
To make things worse, their confidence is at an all time low and they are unsure if they has it to stay up. Clermont will be without the likes of midfielder Perrinelle and Bockhorni who also plays in midfield.
