With just four games of the Ligue 1 to go, St Etienne knows they must get the points for them to secure Champions League football next season. That sentiment was shared by coach Christophe Galtier after he acknowledged that their team has already secured Europa League football next season when they won the Coupe de la Ligue last month.

Last weekend St Etienne could only managed a 1-1 draw with Lyon, so they will be taking this game seriously to return to winning ways. Now they must make home advantage count at the Stade Geoffroy-Guichard and improve if they are to see off Bordeaux.
Meanwhile Bordeaux comes into this match with their sights set on the Coupe de France semi-final. They know they have no chance of reaching Europe through the league now and are also safe from the threat of relegation. So they will now concentrate on beating Troyes in the semi-finals of the Coupe de France next week.
Coach Francis Gillot did however stated that he will remind his boys they will go to win every match.
