Hougang ended their three match losing streak when they beat Harimau Muda B in their last match by 3-1. This will not only be an interesting match because of the Northeastern Derby, but also because it will be a special reunion for former Hougang player Canadian wizard Jordan Webb.
Jordan Webb, who was the winger for the Hougang/Sengkang Punggol faithful, spent four years with them and had scored 50 goals as well. Other then the focus being on Webb, Hougang will look to the likes of players such as Indra Shahdan, Masato Fukui, Hafiz Rahim, Song Ui-Yeong and Sirina Camara who could trouble Home in this match.
And Hougang who got the win against Harimau Muda on Friday will be hoping it will kick start their season. Nurhilmi Jasni will be their player to watch in this clash. The 26-year old winger scored two goals against Harimau Muda, his first two goals in a Hougang shirt since joining them some 14 months ago. His pace and darting runs have troubled the likes of Balestier Khalsa, Warriors FC and Harimau Muda and his presence have paid off Johana Johari’s faith in choosing him.
But Hougang's defence is their main concern here. They have conceded twelve of the last seventeen goals in the last twenty five minutes in each games. Hougang will still be missing will still be missing Robert Eziakor to a groin injury for this game, while Jerome Baker is still a doubt for this game, after being takn off after 30 minutes against Warriors FC, and not selected for the game against Harimau Muda.
