Match Preview :
The Red Devils are closing in on a record 20th league title which they can secure on Monday night after Manchester City's 3-1 defeat at Tottenham.
Other then getting the win here which would ensure the title goes back to the Red half of Manchester, United are also on course for a four match run-in where if they were to win all their games then they would be able to overtake Chelsea's record Premier League total of 95 points.
Nevertheless, for the many United critics, despite the fact that when they were continually hauling themselves back from losing positions, few looked at the battling qualities shown, preferring instead to concentrate at their leaky defence or the manner in which they failed to beat certain teams.
Despite going out of the Champions League to Real Madrid and having collected ten points from their last five games, critics still like to focus on their mistakes rather at the manner at how they came back to win games, which to some are nothing new but more often down to luck or attributed it to referee decisions going for United.
The critics often wants to see them doing well in big games against Manchester City or Liverpool or Chelsea, and if they failed to win those games it means they are not worthy of being a Champion.
But as Evra have said, people forgot they were not doing well early in the season, and they always had to come back. They always did keep winning and are a marathon team.
He ended by saying that:
"This is not the way to win a league. Of course you want to win against the big teams. But it is about how many games you win. I thought 'why are people talking. We are 12 or 15 points clear but they keep saying Manchester United this or that. If that is what they want to do, OK. But in the end, if we get to lift the trophy we will see who is right."
Meanwhile, Aston Villa re coming into this match picking up ten points from their last five games and Paul Lambert sees them getting something out of this game. Lambert added that this match is a game where nobody expects them to get something from and they will just go there to enjoy the game rather then feel the pressure.
The last time they met, United won 3-2 at Villa Park and despite leading 2-0, only for substitute Javier Hernandez to score twice after Ron Vlaar's own goal.for a great United comeback win.
Lambert did give tribute to Sir Alex Ferguson when he said that we'll unlikely to see another manager stay at a club for 27 years. "He's surpassed anything anyone could do. He's won virtually everything, European Cups, league titles. He's a top, top manager."
With Robin van Persie scoring in his last match and with United possibly getting the roll of honour when they travel to face Arsenal at The Emirates, I cannot see United not winning this match! Just a question of how many goals they can score here?
