Tottenham have had a while to rest since their last game. Time to think about what the hell they are doing, because they are close to their 2nd successive season choking when in a position to get Champions League football and bragging rights over their illustrious neighbours.
It's now three consecutive 2-2 results for Tottenham. They dropped points against Everton (rather gained 1 given they were moments from losing) with that result, sandwiched between the same result at home and away against Basle, which led to them being eliminated from the Europa League after a shockingly bad set of penalties. Goals just keep coming in Spurs games, as they blew a chance to lose at Liverpool too, 3-2.
It's seriously tough then that they will have to face Manchester City next, who have made it a habit of scoring against Spurs. The last 3 matches have seen City bang 10 goals past them, and have beaten them in the last 4 meetings. Dzeko scored 4 on their last trip here, helping them take a step towards the title with a 5-1 mauling.
Tottenham of course aren't a team to be blanked either, having scored 4 goals in the last 3 meetings with City, and of course in recent games with other sides, albeit in vain.
