BETTING PREVIEW
Both teams just played in mid-week, with West Ham narrowly, and controversially, missing out on a win over Manchester United, and Wigan going down by the narrowest of margins against Manchester City.
Wigan booked themselves a place in the FA Cup, along with a place in Europe, by winning 3-0 against Millwall. They did quite well against Man City too, but lost out to a late goal. Still, they need points here as they are not yet safe, and I feel they are good value for a point, although I don't want to bet on the result here.
West Ham were quite brilliant in scoring and taking the lead twice against Manchester United, before a controversial equaliser by Van Persie made it 2-2. West Ham will take immense confidence from that, knowing they can win if they replicate the efforts here. Indeed, at home, West Ham have only been kept from scoring once all season!
Wigan may have been blanked by City, but against lower teams they have not had a massive problem scoring. They scored 3 against Milwall, and managed a 3-0 win at Everton, so I think they should at least score in this one.
