Bottom placed Gloria Bistrita suffered another heavy defeat last weekend in Ploiesti, losing 0-4 against second placed Petrolul.
There is not much hope left for the Bistrita based side, they are 10 points away from safety at the moment. The distance is not the main problem though, the way Gloria is playing will surely get them to Liga 2.
Gloria Bistrita’s only victory in 2013 was obtained at home against former champions Otelul Galati in a match played a month ago, when Gloria managed to fight back from 0-1 to pick up the points.
Their home record is not that poor considering their position, they’ve only lost four of their 12 games played in front of their own crowd, less than CFR Cluj for example.

Champions CFR Cluj are still seeking their first victory in 2013, they were not able to prevail in any of their seven Liga 1 games played so far since the second part of the championship kicked off.
If we include the double defeat against Inter Milan in the Europa League and the midweek’s goalless draw in the Romanian cup against Astra Ploiesti, we can count 10 games played in 2013 by CFR Cluj without winning any of them.
The players are getting frustrated by these poor results which led midfielder Gabriel Muresan to see a red card against Astra Ploiesti in the midweek and as a consequence he was sent to train with the reserves team, which means that he’ll miss this one out.
CFR Cluj’s last victory on the road was obtained back in November when they secured a 2-1 win on their city rivals turf, Universitatea Cluj.

The odds for the away win is poor, it would be ridiculous to back them to win their first game in 2013 after a 10 games winless run at these prices, even though CFR Cluj is the likely winner.
I wouldn’t go as far to back Gloria not to lose this either, the bottom placed side is in a disastrous shape, both financially and competitively.
I think there are good premises to see a low scoring game, Gloria will sit back trying to squeeze a draw which would be an excellent result for them in the circumstances, whilst CFR Cluj will try to put an end to their winless run, but they are finding in so hard to score goals at the moment.
