It is the nature of the Championship this season that a side that was once having a sneaky look at trying to get into the Play Off positions may just begin nervously looking behind them in the relegation battle. Derby County are one of those sides that will feel comfortable that they have enough teams between themselves and the bottom three, but also aware that they can't start thinking about the Summer holidays just yet.

Peterborough United

While his father is on course to pick up the Premier League title with Manchester United, Darren Ferguson could have a big achievement on his CV too this season if he can keep Peterborough United in the Championship. The side have been behind the black ball for much of the season after a horrendous start to the League campaign, but now they have got themselves out of the bottom three and are looking to survive from their last 3 games.

Recent results have moved Peterborough up to 20th in the League table, but they have the same number of points as Huddersfield Town in the final relegation place and 1 more point than second bottom Barnsley. The Posh have actually only earned 1 less point on their travels than they have at home this season, going 7-4-10 away from home, scoring 29 goals and conceding 30.

Peterborough United have picked up the right form at just the right time in the season as they take a 10 game unbeaten run to Pride Park. The only disappointment for them may be that they haven't had more wins than draws in that run, but every point does count at this stage of the season. They are also unbeaten in their last 5 away games in the Championship and have suffered just 1 defeat in 7 on their travels.

Prediction

There is no way that Derby County will be taking this lightly as they look to secure their place in the Championship as soon as possible, but they are playing a team that is playing some tough football.

I just feel Peterborough United are playing the slightly more battle hardened football at the moment as they have had to fight for points for a couple of months. There is every chance they can surprise Derby for the win, but I'll back the away side not to lose.
