Lyon travel to face Montpellier currently lying third in the standings while the host Montpellier are in seventh spot.
Lyon managed to beat Toulouse 3-1 in their last match but prior to that win they sufferd three consecutive defeat in Ligue 1, but their coach Remi Garde has called on his players to give the same level of performance that earned them that win.
Lyon knows a win is big as they could go second in the standings at the expense of Marseille should they get all three points tonight. Garde has told his boys not to be complacent after their last win as Montpellier is very strong at home and hard to beat.
Striker Alexandre Lacazette faces a fitness test on a hamstring injury and is not certain to start this match. Other then that there were no other injury concerns.
Meanwhile, Montpellier who won the title last season for their first time are struggling this season as they only managed one win in their last five league games. However, former Lyon striker Anthony Mounier is hoping to get a win against his old team-mates to boost Montpellier's chances of a place in the Europa League at least.
