PREVIEW
The Atlanta Braves are on a 10 game winning streak, their longest in 13 years, and their 12-1 record is the best in MLB. They beat the Kansas City Royals 6-3 yesterday, and I'm taking them to win again today.
Kansas City are much improved from last year, when they were just 3-10. Today, they are 7-6, but they are unfortunately overmatched here by the MLB best Braves, who are 6-1 at home in Turner Field, allowing just 2.71 per game.
The Royals send out Wade Davis, who is 1-0 with a 4.00ERA. Last year he was a bullpen pitcher with Tampa Bay but since moving to Kansas City he is back to starter duties.
Davis has pitched 9 innings this season through 2 games, blanking Minnesota in his last start but he has been hit long twice so far, and 13 hits through 9 innings looks a bit high especially since he's about to face the Braves, who are averaging 5.29 at home.
The Braves go with southpaw Mike Minor. He is 2-0 with a 0.69ERA after blanking the Miami Marlins in his last start over just under 6 innings. He has walked just 1 player in 13 innings of work this season, while striking out 11. Encouraging stuff.
BETTING VERDICT
That streak is pretty impressive and at home you know it will be hard to beat. The team will want to keep it going so expect more concentration than normal, and let's take the Atlanta Braves to win.
