A Sports Betting Pick by ROzsolt
Football : Italy : Serie A
Venue: "Stadio Ennio Tardini", Parma
Sunday 14th April – Kickoff time: 15:00 GMT+1
Parma (10th W10 D9 L12)
Parma has recovered after a poor run of results and managed to record back to back home wins at the Ennio Tardini stadium against Torino and Pescara.
Last week the Crociati held relegation threatened Siena to a goalless draw in what turned out to be a dull encounter. With that draw Parma ended a four games losing streak on the road.
Following these results, Roberto Donadoni’s side should not have any relegation worries for the rest of this season, Parma can even afford to test some of their youngsters like 16-year-old striker Alberto Cerri or 21-year-old midfielder Filippo Boniperti who were both given some playing time against Pescara.
Raffaelle Palladino, Mariga McDonald, Andrea Coda and Djamel Mesbah will miss this out through injury, so will midfielder Parolo who is suspended for this match.
Udinese (9th W11 D12 L8)
Despite their comfortable 3-1 victory over Chievo last time around, Udinese will probably miss out on the European spots following their poor away performances.
Udinese fans saw Di Natale back on target again, he scored twice in five first-half minutes as he recorded his 16th and 17th goals against Chievo.
Di Natale won’t make the trip to Parma though since he is suspended, nor will Benatia who’s in the same situation, which means that Muriel and Heurteaux will replace them in that order.
The victory over Chievo was Udinese’s first one since they beat Pescara at the start of March. Guidolin’s side have not been performing well on the road, they’ve lost four of their last five away matches.
The Betting Verdict
This Udinese side was built around Di Natale, so it will be interesting how will they perform without their captain, they might get used to it since Di Natale is probably playing his last games in Serie A, he might put an end to his career at the end of this season.
It will be a chance for youngsters like Pereyra and Muriel to show that they can be relied upon, but the fact is that when Di Natale was not at the top of his game Udinese rarely won. Guidolin’s side may not be ready to lose their captain just yet.
The Gialloblu on the other hand have shown some uncharacteristic signs of weakness when playing at the Ennio Tardini in 2013 having lost to Napoli and Catania, but Parma remains one of the toughest trips in the Serie A calendar. Parma is actually unbeaten in 18 of their last 20 home games in the competition.
Parma returned to their winning ways on style with three-goal margin wins against Torino and Pescara and I think they should be good for another victory against an Udinese side that has been struggling to pick up points when playing on the road.
