BETTING PREVIEW
For all the booing he is subjected to, Benitez could well win his ungrateful supporters a European Cup and the FA Cup, as well as getting his side qualified for the Champions League next year. First things first, there is this tie with Manchester City at Wembley, and if they can win, they will be overwhelming favourites to win the cup in the finals against either Wigan or Millwall.
Of course, Manchester City are no pushovers, as they showed last year in scrapping till the very death to win the title. They may be about to lose that title this year, but they must have gained some belief from the 2-1 win they earned last week at Old Trafford against their rivals.
Chelsea are off a 2-1 league win against Sunderland, sandwiched between a couple of Europa League games. They beat Rubin Kazan 3-1 at Stamford Bridge before a 3-2 loss away. The main thing is that the goals are coming for the West London Blues, and they will need that against City. Torres has scored a few times in recent games, which will have boosted the club's belief.
Remember, Chelsea have won this Cup in 3 of the last 4 years, so the players know it well. I still can't back them, despite the underdog prices, because City are a strong side who have proved in recent games that they can get results against big sides.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I've just seen from stats that these 2 clubs have never met in the FA Cup. Really? Weird.
Anyway, I can't separate the two. I think Manchester City will go through, just about, but whether it comes in 90 minutes or more is a question I cannot answer.
I'll go with both sides to have a say in regular time though.
The Pick :
Chelsea 1-2 Manchester City
