Inter Milan’s European adventure is close to an end after the Italians suffered a severe 0-3 defeat at the hands of Premier League side Tottenham on Thursday.
It was a demoralizing defeat especially after Inter had made a great comeback just days earlier to beat Catania 3-2 after going down 0-2 in the first half, but Tottenham is obviously at a better level at the moment.
The Nerazzuri will now be looking to stay in touch with the podium in Serie A, they’ll need a win here to keep the distance manageable. Third placed AC Milan picked up three points on Friday at Genoa, so the pressure is on Inter now.
Andrea Stramaccioni will have to deal with a lot of absences, there are several players missing out on long term through injury, while goalkeeper Samir Handanovic will be serving a suspension, so Carrizo will be making his debut at Inter.
Bologna (11th W9 D5 L13)
Bologna took a significant step towards securing their future in Serie A by beating in form Cagliari after a solid performance in a match than ended 3-0 for the hosts.
It was Bologna’s second consecutive home victory after they’ve previously defeated Fiorentina (2-1) at the Stadio Renato Dall'Ara.
They will now travel to Milan in an attempt to pull off another upset at the Giuseppe Meazza, just like they did on the 17th of February 2012, when they’ve secured a 3-0 victory.
The Rossoblu won’t have Marco Di Vaio this time around (he scored twice in that 3-0 win), but they’ve still got plenty of firepower with Gilardino and Diamanti in front.

It doesn’t happen very often to see these kind of odds for a home win when Inter Milan is hosting a team from the second half of the table, one that have lost nine of their last eleven away matches in Serie A.
The Nerazzuri also hold a solid record against Bologna, they’ve won eleven of their last thirteen clashes with the Rossoblu and have scored at least twice in 15 of their last 18 encounters against them.
