MK Dons
Too many draws are beginning to take their toll on the MK Dons promotion challenge this season and even getting into the Play Offs will take some effort from them now. However, they do have a couple of games in hand over some of the sides above them in the table so the Dons aren't quite out of the mix just yet.
Another draw at the weekend means the MK Dons are left in 13th in the League One table and they are now trailing Tranmere Rovers by 13 points in the final Play Off place. However, they do have three games in hand over Tranmere so could really start closing the gap beginning with a win in this one. The MK Dons have an 8-4-4 record at home this season, scoring 23 goals and conceding 17 in those games.
The MK Dons have failed to win any of their last 8 games in the League, although they come into this one having drawn 4 in a row. They have now failed to win any of their last 5 home games in the League and they have lost 3 of those, although 2 of the last 3 have ended in low-scoring draws.
Doncaster Rovers
I don't know what it is about being top of League One, but it does seem that teams see their form deteriorate as soon as they find themselves in this position. Doncaster Rovers are the latest side to take over at the top of League One as they look to put some room between themselves and Swindon Town in the first of the Play Off places.
Doncaster moved to the top of the table thanks to a 3-0 win over Hartlepool United on Saturday and they still have a 3 point lead over Swindon in 3rd place, but the top of this Division is very, very tight. They have a 11-4-2 away record so far this season, scoring 28 goals and conceding 13, and that makes Doncaster the team with the most away wins in League One.
After back to back defeats to open February, Doncaster have gone on a 5 game unbeaten run, winning back to back games at Shrewsbury Town and at home against Hartlepool. Doncaster had failed to win in back to back away games in League One until the victory at Shrewsbury, although that does mean they have won 4 of their last 6 away games in the League.
Head to Head
It has been less than a month since Doncaster Rovers and MK Dons met in the League at the Keepmoat Stadium in what ended up being a goalless draw.
Doncaster Rovers have only played twice at the MK Dons in the past, winning both times including a 2-3 win last season.
Prediction
The MK Dons have played a lot of draws recently, but they have been in poor form here for the most part and I think the team with the best away record in the League is a little disrespected by the 3.25 being offered on them to win their third in a row in Milton Keynes.
The Dons have been playing a lot of low-scoring games recently, but I can see Doncaster sneaking the win here and consolidating their place at the top of League One.
The Pick :
MK Dons 1-2 Doncaster Rovers
