A Sports Betting Pick by Lamps

Millwall v Wolverhampton Wanderers
Football : England : Championship
Tuesday 5th March - Kickoff 7:45pm

Millwall

Millwall went down 1-0 at Leeds on Saturday as a penalty separated the 2 sides. The defeat leaves Millwall 14th place and pretty midtable obscurity as they won't go down and seem highly unlikely to make the top 6.

Jackett's side are in some what of a freefall domestically. 6 losses in the last 7 has all but ended their realistic chance of a top 6 finish and it seems the FA Cup run has taken their eye off the league campaign.

At home Millwall has lost 3 straight at the Den and 4 from 5.In the last 10 home games there has been just a single draw and with Wolves needing a win that run should continue on Tuesday night.

1 goal in the last 3 home games is a concern for Millwall, they were also shut out at Leeds on Saturday and they clearly miss Wood. At the back 8 goals against in the last 3 home games is horrendous and they haven't kept a clean sheet in 5.

Wolverhampton Wanderers

Wolverhampton Wanderers scored a 92nd equaliser to snatch a point against Watford on Friday night. The point leaves Wolves in the drop zone and they are a point adrift from safety having played a game more than those above them.

Saunders hasn't won a league game since taking over and his side are 12 now without a win. 3 draws in the last 5 is ok, but 2 losses in the last 3 is the real problem and they desperately need a win.

Away from home there is an interesting run of form for Wolves L-D-L-D-L so will this one end in a draw on Tuesday? This team hasn't won away in 2013 in fact they haven't won any league games in 2013 but with Millwall out of form they won't get a better chance than this one.

In both the recent draws, Wolves failed to score in 0-0 scorelines. These are the only clean sheets in 11 on the road but 2 in the last 4 makes better reading for them. 3 goals scored in the last 5 is a worry but thankfully this Millwall defence is poor at home so they should get chances.

Betting Verdict

Millwall are the odds against favourites to win this game, other than being at home I don't really see why they are to be honest.

The hosts have lost 6 of the last 7 overall and the last 3 at home so anyone taking around evens needs their head testing. The visitors are bad, I accept that with no wins in 12 but they will be buoyed by the draw against high flyers Watford on Friday.

Wolves have had an extra day to prepare for this game which is somewhat negated by the travel but their need is greater than Millwall's to take something.

Millwall don't draw many games at home and this could be a great chance for Wolves to cause a "shock". 2 clean sheets in the last 4 away from home against a side that doesn't score many could see them claim a win in this one. At the odds on offer Wolves not to lose is the bet as I'm a little too prudent to take the away win.

Good Luck
