BETTING PREVIEW
I have to be honest, I'm not sure I know which team will win this one. Both have suffered some poor form of late, leaving Inter 5th and Fiorentina 6th, with just 4 points separating the sides. The title dreams are over, but there is still league position to fight for, and I think both will come out attacking for this one.
Inter Milan are off a 2-0 home win against Cluj on Thursday. The big news is the loss of top scorer Milito to injury but Palacio did score both goals and I feel he could prove dangerous for Fiorentina here again.
The problem for Inter is their away form, as they have failed to win any of their last 8 away from home. Fiorentina have also stumbled, picking up just 1 win through their last 6 matches. However, with the hosts scoring 41 and the visitors scoring 39 through their 24 league games so far it's hard to imagine both not scoring in this one. Inter will surely concede as they have allowed goals in their last 11 away games!
I cannot back Fiorentina because of their inability to kill of games. They are off a 2-0 loss to Juventus, so maybe getting back home and knowing they face a side that concedes, and does so early in games, will give them the confidence to have a go from the start. And it is that trend of early conceding that has caught my eye.
I thought about both teams to score and the overs, which both look solid selections, but have a look at Inters last few away games - At Siena, they conceded, equalised and conceded again before the 1st half was even halfway complete! Before that, they were in Roma, where they lost 2-1, and all the goals came in the 1st half. The action seems to not take long to start when Inter go on the road.
THE BETTING VERDICT
Encouragingly, it was Cassano and Palacio that scored in the above mentioned games, and it was Palacio that scored a brace on Thursday against Cluj. So, I expect there to be goals from the visitors despite the loss of Milito.
Of course, their terrible defence, especially on the road, means they will surely go without a clean sheet yet again. I feel both teams to score is a solid bet, as are the overs, but I shall go with the 1st half Overs as I think we should easily get a 1-1 or 2-1 score by HT.
