Real Sociedad really got my attention when they managed to push Real Madrid to need to score 4 goals just to beat them at the Bernabeu. Following that 4-3 loss they continued to impress, coming from 2 down to hand Barcelona their only loss of the season, and they have not been beaten since. I have them as winners of this match.
Levante have actually won their last 3 meetings with Sociedad, and are just 3 points behind them in the league, but come here on a poor run in away matches. Levante have lost their last 4 games away from home, and that's not the kind of form that will get things done against a Sociedad side that is managing to score a bunch, especially at home.
Sociedad have won their last two home games 3-2 against Barcelona and 3-0 against Mallorca. They are on a 2 game winning streak, as they followed the win over Mallorca with a 2-1 victory at Zaragoza.
Levante lost the last 4 games, and they were blanked in 3 of those matches! They did score 2 as they lost in Espanyol but Betis and Atletico were able to beat them by a couple and blank them, which is not encouraging.
There is also the fatigue factor, as Levante were in action on Thursday against Olympiacos, and despite a win they are likely to be tired and there for the taking, if Sociedad can perform like they have been doing. I have a feeling we're going to see at least 2 goals from the home side, and I feel that will be enough for a narrow win.
