Venue: "Stadio Angelo Massimino", Catania

Catania (8th W10 D6 L8)
Catania will try to turn their fortune around when they’ll return home after two consecutive games on the road in which they’ve failed to score.
After a predictable 2-0 defeat to Napoli at San Paolo, Maran’s side decided to be more pragmatic and took no chances against Atalanta in a dull match that ended goalless. Catania defended well, they’ve only allowed one shot on goal from the hosts, so I guess both were happy with a point.
I can’t imagine Catania settling for a draw against Bologna though, the main reason behind Catania’s top half position in the Serie A table is their excellent home record that reads W8 D2 L2. The Sicilians will want to improve that record after two games without a win.
Coach Maran will try out a new formation in which he’ll be able to use four attacking players, so Catania will use two defensive midfielders behind the attacking trio that will support the lone striker Castro.
Bologna (15th W7 D5 L12)
Bologna is unbeaten in three matches and as a result they’ve managed to put some distance between them and the drop zone, they are currently five points above 18th placed Pescara.
However, the Rossoblu were hoping to make the most of their last home game against another relegation threatened side, Siena, but Bologna’s wasteful finishing denied them a much needed win (1-1).
Bologna has great memories from the home game against Catania, it was probably their best match of the season and surely the most impressive result, the Rossoblu eased past the Sicilians to record a 4-0 win.
Their away record is not that impressive though, Bologna have lost nine of their twelve games on the road, only Chievo lost as many away games as they did this season.
The Betting Verdict
Catania will try to avenge the humiliating 0-4 defeat from the reverse fixture and their home record should give them hope to pull it off, as I mentioned before they’ve won 8 of their 12 matches played at Angelo Massimino.
The draw is always a possibility in games like these between evenly matched sides, but strangely enough Bologna have not recorded a single draw in their twelve away games of the season, losing nine of them.
In my opinion this is not the kind of game Bologna can win, so unless the pattern will brake now and the game will end in a draw then I would be surprised if Catania won’t prevail here.
