BETTING PREVIEW
Motherwell sit 3rd, tied on 37 points with Inverness but behind on Goal difference. Inverness could be ahead by the time this game kicks off as they play a distracted Celtic side, but there is a chance they fail to take their chance. Either way, this is a winnable game for Motherwell, and I feel they won't falter.
Kilmarnock sit 9th with 29 points, but it's tight at the bottom, with the 2nd worst side just 1 point behind. What I'm not impressed with is Kilmarnock's recent performances. Sure, they beat Inverness 2-0 in the Cup game, but it's been a while since they won in the league. And their home form is not inspiring at all.
Killy have won just 4 times at home, so no advantage here. They've allowed almost as many goals as they have scored, so have a +1 goal difference, and are likely to concede a couple here, at least. Kilmarnock could also be fatigued, as they were playing that Cup game against Inverness, while Motherwell were resting.
Motherwell bounced back with a 3-2 win over St. Johnstone to atone for that narrow 1-0 loss at Celtic, which was impressive because Celtic normally score a bunch, especially at home, so to only allow 1 was commendable.
Prior to losing to Celtic and St. Mirren away, Motherwell had gone 9 road games with just 1 loss, and that certainly looks better than the league run of 5 without a win that Kilmarnock are currently on.
THE BETTING VERDICT
This might just be a 1 goal winning margin, but I think at the prices quoted, we have to take the visitors to pick up the 3 points.
The Pick :
Kilmarnock 1-2 Motherwell
