Nottingham Forest lost 2-1 at Birmingham last weekend to really hurt their promotion push. The defeat means they trail 6th placed Boro by 6 points having played a game more.
McLeish left the club this week meaning the side has a caretaker for this game at Bristol. With problems off the field the record of 1 win in 6 shows that on it there are a problems too for the once European Champions.
Away from home Forest are winless in 6 having lost 4 of these games. The club has no manager, no form and faces a sacked manager from earlier in the season and I don't think this team will get the win they so desperately need.
3 goals in 6 away games isn't promotion chasing statistics and this puts a lot of strain on the defence. 1 clean sheet in 10 is poor and with no goals scored at 1 end and plenty conceded at the other Forest have it all to do if they want to end in the top 6 come May.
Betting Verdict
Bristol City have 3 wins from 4 games, a manager who is up against his old team and face a manager-less club with no away wins in 6 and yet they are 2/1 to win the game?!
I can't believe these odds and they are completely wrong to have Forest as 6/4 favourites. I'm taking the hosts not to lose and the numbers look good for them.
Bristol has scored 2 goals in their last 2 home games compared to Forest's defence averaging 2 against in their last 4 away games. The visitors are awful in front of goal at the minute but defensively Bristol aren't great so they may get 1 goal.
However, I see at least 2 Bristol City goals and that means they leave at least a point and for the odds on offer this is where the value lies.
