Millwall

Millwall were beaten by struggling Barnsley (2-0) midweek to dent their push for promotion. They currently occupy 9th place and trail the top 6 by 6 points so this is quite a big game for them.

Jackett's side have faltered in the last 2 league games losing both. Inbetween they managed to beat Villa in the FA Cup and more often than not they play their best stuff at home at the Den.

Millwall were 7 games unbeaten at home before a poor run that has seen them lose 2 of the last 3 league games in front of their own fans. The loss of striker Woods has been a massive blow and they really need someone to step in his place which so far they haven't found.

It's 3 games now without a home clean sheet as Millwall has conceded 5 goals in that period. At the other end the South Londoners have also failed to scored 2 or more in 5 of the last 6 which makes winning games very difficult at this level.

Hull City

Hull City crashed out of the FA Cup to Barnsley at the weekend which is a negative as they lost. But at the same it's a positive as they can focus entirely on the league and that starts on Saturday at Millwall.

Bruce's side haven't won in 3 games and it's just 1 win from 5 as the rest of the chasing pack has caught them up in the Championship table.

Away from home Hull are excellent unbeaten in 6 league games winning 4 and drawing the other 2. The last 2 have been drawn at Blackpool (0-0) and Peterborough (1-1) and their problem is scoring goals.

1 goal in the last 2 away games has fortunately been good enough to obtain 2 draws. But when they won 4 straight they scored 9 games at an average of over 2 a game. The defence is strong so if they get 2 you think the points are theirs.

Betting Verdict

I like Hull to get back to winning ways at Millwall. The hosts don't look great to me, the win over Villa I think was more down to Villa than them which may sound disrespectful but to then lose to Barnsley is poor.

Hull has struggled in recent weeks but I think they can at least avoid defeat at Millwall. The hosts have lost 2 of their last 3 at home so they are not in great form themselves and I've already mentioned losing Woods was a big deal for them.

At odds against this is a no brainier for me and the very least I expect a push if it ends all square. This comes down to the visitors scoring 2 for me and they haven't done this in recent away games.

However, on their away winning run they found 2 goals regularly and I expect them to find their form in this game and ultimately they will win this game.
