League One outfit Sheffield United are at Reading but I see them struggling against a Premier League side that has shown an ability to score a bunch on a good day. Sheffield United have serious defensive injuries coming into this, and it's going to cost them a bunch of goals if they're not careful.
Reading have won 3 straight games now, and 4 of their last 5 in all competitions. They lost at Tottenham but managed to pick up a 2-1 win at Newcastle and knocked out Crawley in the FA Cup. Reading won their last 2 home games too, edging West Brom 3-2 after a quite magnificent comeback and blanked West Ham 1-0.
United are missing their 1st choice keeper for this one, as well as a bunch of defenders. That's a massive problem against a side that was able to go 4-0 up on Arsenal in Cup competition. A team that can put 5 goals past Arsenal can surely do similar damage against a team missing most of their 1st choice defence.
Sheffield United's ability to do what Arsenal did, come back by scoring a bunch, is limited. They beat Oxford 3 weeks ago, and that has been their only win in 5 games in all competitions!
Reading have scored 8 goals in their last 3 games coming into this, and despite United having an old Reading player who may get a goal (Kitson) I don't see how United, banged up in the back, can do enough to hang with the Royals.
THE BETTING VERDICT
I think there is a chance United grab a goal and keep it close, but if they were to get a draw I'd be very surprised. Thought about the 1 goal winning margin, but Reading are capable of big wins so might as well stick with the home win.
