Real Betis crashed to a 2-0 loss at Atletico Madrid in the Copa Del Rey on Thursday evening but have a chance to set things back on course when they contest a home game against Athletic Bilbao, who are 14th in the table and come here having lost 3 straight games.
Real Betis, of course, are enjoying one of their best ever starts to a La Liga season, sitting 4th after 19 games. Prior to the loss to Atletico, they had won 3 straight games, keeping clean sheets in the 2 that were played at home. They have conceded 29 goals this season, 10 less than the 39 Bilbao have already shipped.
Bilbao are in the worst position they have been in after 19 games, with just 21 points, thanks to having lost 10 games. As I said, they are off 3 straight league defeats, 2-0 against Zaragoza, 3-1 at Levante and then 2-1 against Rayo Vallecano.
The thing that cements my decision here is the h2h. Betis have won the last 3 meetings with Athletic Bilbao, beating them not just 2-1 the last time Bilbao visited, but 3-2 and most recently 5-3 when they were the travelling team. Back at home, fresh off a loss, I expect to see Betis play very good football, which will be too much for Bilbao to handle given the form they are in.

The even money on offer is more than I was expecting for Betis to win and I shall snap that up before it drops.
