Not a huge difference between these 2 sides down the bottom of the League One table. Bury sit 23rd with just 19 points while Shrewsbury are 20th with 22. They've scored 23 and 25 respectively but the defences are clearly weak and both look like they might have a long night.
Looking at the fixture list you'll notice, much as I have, that Bury have had to play many games, and that brings the fatigue factor right to the front, and it will hamper their defence a lot more than it will their attack. Indeed, at home they almost always manage a goal, and recent form shows them scoring in all but 1 of the last 6 so against a defence as poor as Shrewsbury I expect them to net, at least once. Shrewsbury have conceded 5 goals in their last 3 away games.
Shrewsbury too should score against Bury's tired and suspect defence. Bury have allowed 8 goals in their last 4 home games so to expect 1 from the visitors isn't much at all. What they also have going for them is the lack of fatigue due to not having played as many games of late.
Still, there have been too many away losses for Town for me to suggest you go near them as a bet. Bury do well at home, certainly scrapping well, but again the defence is a worry so they are a no go. We're left with a draw, definitely a score draw if it happens, 1-1 or 2-2, but we could well see a narrow win. I'm not prepared to gamble on one of them.
I think you could chance the Overs here, but I'm not going to want too much hassle with this one, so based on my expectations I shall simply stick some money on both sides to score, which should come in very comfortably.
