This will be a Tuscan derby match so there will not be any love lost between the sides when they clash at the Stadio Artemio Franchi.
Fiorentina are without a win in their last three games coming into this tie but the good news is that they are unbeaten in the last seven meetings with Siena going back all the way to 2004, registering five wins and two draws.
The hosts saw their five matches unbeaten run came crashing at the Stadio Olimpico last weekend afte their heaviest defeat to date going down 4-2 to Roma. For the neutrals it was an exciting game with lots of goals and Roma Coach Zdenek Zeman praised Fiorentina for their open attacking game.

Meanwhile Siena's form has dropped in recent weeks. They suffered back to back defeats and only managed one win in their last five games going into this match. They could enter the new year being bottom of Serie A now. After Fiorentina they will next come up against Napoli before Serie A takes a break for winter.
No doubt an unlikely win here could revive them and see them escape the relegation zone, as they are just three points from safety. They do have a better goal difference as compared with 17th placed Pescara.
There has been unconfirmed reports that Siena are keen to sign Tomasso Rocchi from Lazio, although no contact has yet been made for a January transfer. Coach Serse Cosmi aired his frustration at his side’s inability to convert their chances and a leaky defence recently.

Star forward Stevan Jovetic should be fit to start this match, but it looks as if Fiorentina could sign 21-year-old attacking midfielder Matias Vecino in the January transfer market to give Montella more options in attack.
