Swansea
Swansea had a hard fought match with Liverpool at the weekend, but they picked up a point in that game and will still consider this a fixture that they can win. Each point Swansea pick up means they are that much closer to ensuring their position in the Premier League again for next season in Michael Laudrup's first season in charge of the club.
The side are 9th in the Premier League table and they have picked up 17 points so far this season which puts them almost half way between the Champions League places and the final relegation spot. Swansea have a 2-4-1 record at the Liberty Stadium where they have scored 9 goals and conceded 10.
Since a 1-0 loss at Manchester City, Swansea have been unbeaten in 5 games in all competitions which has seen them also progress into the last eight of the Capital One Cup. Swansea have drawn 3 of their last 4 League games, while they have drawn 3 of their last 4 at home although unbeaten in those games.
Danny Graham is still missing for the home side, but Luke Moore is back to provide more attacking options. Jonathan De Guzman is a doubt after suffering a knock on Sunday against Liverpool.
West Brom
The most surprising team in the Premier League so far this season has to be West Brom and some fans are dreaming of hijacking a place in the Champions League for next season. Steve Clarke could be one of the most sought after managers going forward if he can keep the team flying high and actually build on the achievements of Roy Hodgson before him.
West Brom are 3rd in the Premier League table and find themselves 4 points behind Manchester United and also 5 points clear of 5th placed Everton. Most of their positive results have come at home, but they are still a respectable 2-2-2 on their travels, scoring 9 goals and conceding 10 in those games.
It took a shot hitting Papiss Cisse's backside to beat West Brom at Newcastle United, but they haven't let that knock them sideways and have since won 4 games in a row in the League. The Baggies have won back to back away games at Wigan Athletic and Sunderland, the latter an impressive 2-4 win on Saturday lunchtime.
Jonas Olsson is a doubt for this game, while Ben Foster is still missing in goal.
Head to Head
Swansea beat West Brom 3-0 here at the Liberty Stadium last season and later recorded the double with a 1-2 win at the Hawthornes.
West Brom did beat Swansea 0-2 here on their previous visit.
Prediction
This could be a high-scoring game as West Brom are not likely to be pulling the punches with the form they have been displaying. I expect the away side to get on the front foot and try to take the game to Swansea and keep their recent momentum going.
I think Swansea are better going forward than they showed against Liverpool on Sunday. They had scored 5 goals in their last 3 home games before that result at the weekend, but they have also shown vulnerabilities by conceding 5 goals in that same period.
It could be an entertaining game and the rain should have dried up so both sides should have opportunities in this one and so I'll take the over 2.5 goals in this one.
