Match Preview :
Wednesday night sees England travelling to Stockholm to take on Sweden for a International Friendly clash.
It will be a special match for Steven Gerrard as he gets his 100th England cap while the likes of Raheem Stirling, Wilfried Zaha and Leon Osman will mark their debut at the official opening of the Friends Arena.
Gerrard will join an elite group of players that included the likes of Peter Shilton, David Beckham, Bobby Moore, Sir Bobby Charlton and Billy Wright to have hit 100th caps.
It will also be a special occasion for fellow Liverpool player Stirling as he makes his debut at 17 years and 31-year-old Osman, who will be earning their respective firsts in the biggest age gap between England debutants since the Second World War.
Meanwhile, Crystal Palace player Zaha is another player who could make his debut in the second half and there has been a lot of talk about the player's future. If he does feature that means England boss Hodgson could also look to the Championships to find players who are earning regular first-team opportunities.
But most importantly, Hodgson will want a repeat of the victory over Sweden from the group stages of Euro 2012. That 3-2 win over Sweden was very dramatic to say the least and the England boss would be pleased with any kind of victory in Stockholm which would end England's long wait for a win in Sweden, which dates back to 1965.
For this match, Hodgson has taken the unusual step of already naming his starting eleven and it includes Tottenham Hotspur centre-back Steven Caulker alongside Gary Cahill, Glen Johnson and Leighton Baines in defence.
Meanwhile, Gerrard and Osman are expected to sit in deep midfield, with the trio of Sterling, Tom Cleverley and Ashley Young supporting main striker Danny Welbeck.
For the hosts, Sweden coach Erik Hamren will have star man Zlatan Ibrahimovic as their top striker while West Bromwich Albion defender Jonas Olsson and Blackburn Rovers' Martin Olsson will be familiar faces to the English fans.
