Atalanta (8th W5 D2 L4)
Atalanta extended Sampdoria’s misery beating 2-1 at the Marassi last weekend, a result that moved Atalanta clear of the relegation zone.
The Bergamo based club is running great at the moment, they are unbeaten in their last four Serie A games. They’ve actually won three of those games, including a victory over Napoli on their previous home game.
Atalanta played a midweek friendly game without Bonaventura and Denis, but it seems like they’ll be fit enough on Sunday to be in the starting line-up. Can’t say the same about defender Bellini, who is still recovering from an injury.
Inter Milan (2nd W9 D0 L2)
Inter kept the headlines in Europe recently after putting an end to Juventus’ 49 games unbeaten run with an impressive second half performance at the Juventus Stadium in Turin.
The Nerazzurri conceded a goal to Arturo Vidal after just 19 seconds, but had a great respond in the second half to defeat Juventus 3-1 with goals from Milito (2) and Rodrigo Palacio.
It was Inter’s ninth consecutive win which allowed them to move within just one point from leader Juventus after 11 stages in Serie A. Stramaccioni’s side made some wrong steps at home this season, but they’ve been spot on when playing on the road, winning all five games so far.
Inter continued their winning streak in Europa League as well, putting three goals past Partizan in Belgrade despite resting some key players like Milito or Cassano.
The Betting Verdict
This is always a difficult trip on the Serie A calendar, Inter actually failed to win on their last three visits to Bergamo. The last time they’ve won here was back in 2008 when Inter secured a 2-0 victory.
Atalanta have been alternating excellent results when playing at home like the one against Napoli (1-0) with inexplicable defeats, conceding five goals in a 1-5 trashing by Torino.
It’s hard to ignore these prices with Inter’s recent record in Serie A, if I remember well bookies have offered odds above evens on every one of their travels, so punters who followed them made tasty profits this season.
My only concern is that there are a lot of missing players from Inter’s defense, Ranocchia have been ruled out which means that Stramaccioni may have to improvise with Cambiasso there. Still, backing Inter at these prices to record their sixth consecutive away win seems like the obvious choice here.
