Liverpool will travel to Russia to take on Anzhi Makhachkala with a depleted side as Brendan Rodgers has decided that his priorities will be at the weekend game with Chelsea in the Premiership.
The likes of Steven Gerrard, Luis Suarez, Joe Allen, Nuri Sahin, Daniel Agger, Jose Reina, Glen Johnson, Raheem Sterling and Jose Enrique have all been left behind for the crucial match against Chelsea.
We can expect to see youngsters Stephen Sama, Adam Morgan and Conor Coady who have been brought in for tonight's match while Rodgers will want Joe Cole and Jordan Henderson to also shine here.
Liverpool did beat Anzhi 1-0 when these two sides met at Merseyside courtesy of Steward Downing's goal but if they were to drop any point here, it could be costly as there is only three points that seperates Liverpool at the top with Young Boys at the bottom.
Anzhi will be no pushovers and will enter this match in confident mood. However Liverpool have lost just twice in eight meetings with Russian opponents ahead of their clash with Anzhi in Moscow as Guus Hiddink's side play their home matches.
It needs to be stated for the record that the Russian side have won their last four home European games without conceding a goal in the process.
The likes of Samuel Eto'o, Yuri Zhirkov and Christopher Samba are no strangers to the Anzhi side. Meanwhile, Defensive midfielder Jucilei is fit following injury and could be included by boss Guus Hiddink.
