The Dons drew their FA Cup game at Cambridge on Friday despite dominating pretty much the whole game. Like with their league form, they play well but don't have a goal scorer to kill moves off.
Robbinson's side sit in 8th place and trail the playoff places by 2 points. They are back at home for this game against Orient and can't let this opportunity go by to claim 3 points.
This team has just 1 league win in the last 6 which is alarming. Fortunately for them they have been able to just about hold onto the top 6 but they need to start winning frequently again.
At home it's no wins in the last 2 as Portsmouth (2-2) drew here and Stevenage (0-1) stole the points in the last home game. It's 2 wins in the last 5 for the Dons at home and that's a worry. Both were 1-0 results so it's hardly convincing form from them at the moment.
Leyton Orient
Orient come into this game in 19th place and they have a cushion of 2 points to the drop zone. Having lost to Coventry in the cup at the weekend, Slade's side are under pressure all of a sudden and they won't want to lose this game.
Orient have lost the last 3 league games and 5 of the last 6. This is really worrying as we know how difficult it is to bounce back after a losing run.
Away from home it's back to back losses at Bournemouth and Oldham (2-0). Before these results they were 3 unbeaten away from home so we know Orient have it in them to frustrate home sides.
4 games without an away clean sheet and no goals scored in 2 is a concern. The MK Dons don't score many themselves but we know 1-0 is a favourable scoreline with them and statistically that looks a play here.
Betting Verdict
My word! The Dons are 1.50 to win this game despite being in truly awful form. No wins in 6 now and none in the last 2 at home gives them no right to be this short.
The visitors are struggling big time themselves so I can see why MK are favourites but not 1.50 faves. I will back the hosts to win but via winning margin bets of 1 and 2.
MK haven't won by more than 2 goals this season at home and the visitors like wise. No away loss by more than 2 and as a result getting a much bigger price on the hosts by 1 or 2 appeals here.
The MK Dons are due a win and this looks the right side to play to do so. However, I thought the same against Cambridge and look how that turned out! For the odds on offer this bet is a no brainier for me compared to the brutal fixed market quotes.
